You’ve Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHAT ARE THINGS I SHOULD BRING ON MY TRIP?
All trips include bait, fishing gear, water and licenses required to fish in Alabama State waters. We recommend bringing plenty of sunscreen, drinks that replenish electrolytes and other snack food. Also, if you plan to take fish home, bring a cooler. One rule to remember when considering snacks, "NO BANANA'S ON THE BOAT"
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ON THE GULF, HOW DO I PREPARE MYSELF?
If this is your first time on the Gulf, we recommend you consider prepping with Dramamine, Scopalamine or Bonine or non-medicinal alternatives such as Sea Bands. In the event we are on a trip and someone gets seasick, we will safely return to shore but the trip must be paid in full. If there is a significant time left on the trip, we will head back out.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TRIP IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Expectations differ when it comes to the charter trips, but there are a couple common themes. People want to catch fish and they want to have fun. If this is your first time on the gulf a 4 hour trolling trip or 6 hour reef fishing trip may be your drug of choice. Diehard anglers might want to go for the longer trips.
HOW ARE CANCELLATIONS HANDLED?
All trips are cancellable with full refund of the deposit for trips prior to 15 days before your scheduled trips. Deposits for Trips cancelled up to 48 hours prior to your trip will be credited toward a future trip and must be taken within the 12 months following the initial scheduled date. No-shows will be charged the full amount of the trip. It is our goal to ensure a safety on the water, thus Deposits are fully refundable if unable to leave port on the day of your trip due to hazardous conditions. Whatever you do, don't look outside and see it raining and assume the trip will be cancelled.
For cancellations prior to 48 hours before the trip, contacct Captain Billy at 601-938-7161 and email to bentoutfittersfishing@gmail.com
CAN LOCAL RESTAURANTS COOK OUR CATCH?
There are several local restaurants in the area that can prepare your fresh caught fish and usually will include sides for a fee. We will talk about some options on your trip.
DOES MY BOOKING INCLUDE CLEANING FISH AND WHAT IS THE RULE OF THUMB ON TIPPING?
Our goals are to put you on fish and show you a great time. If you need your fish cleaned after the trip, there is typically a 0.30 cents per gross lb charge for cleaning fish. For example 100 lbs of whole fish would cost $ 30. Regarding tipping, the Captain and Crew work hard to put you on the fish and show you a great time. If you had a great time, it is customary to tip in the 15-20% range of the total trip. All monies should be presented to the captain and he will disperse them accordingly. Fish cleaning fees can be paid directly to the mate.
IS THERE A BATHROOM ON THE BOAT?
You are in luck, we upgraded our ride this year and it includes a HEAD (Bathroom)
